In what his campaign is billing as a first for Southern Maryland politics, Charles County Commissioners President Wayne Cooper (D) launched a series of online podcasts to spotlight key issues leading up to the Nov. 7 general election. The question-and-answer segments, called "CooperCasts," allow the candidate to communicate directly with voters. In the first segment, which lasts about six minutes, Cooper discusses land preservation and development, transportation and his leadership style on the board. "To me, technology is our future," Cooper said. "I'm excited to be part of it and use it in our campaign. . . . It's very important for your voters to have an opportunity to hear and see the politicians that are running for office." The podcasts, which begin and end with music, are available on Cooper's Web site. |
