21 Turns 21Since it passed on July 17, 1984, the 21 Minimum Drinking Age Law has saved nearly 1,000 young lives each year, according to the national powerhouse organization Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). To commemorate the advent and importance of the 21 Minimum Drinking Age Law, MADD tapped Tobin Communications, Inc. in the summer of 2005 to put together a Radio Media Tour that allowed radio reporters and talk show hosts to speak with Glynn Birch, the first father to be MADD's national president. While thousands of lives have been spared in the past two decades because of the minimum drinking age legislation, Birch was able to reinforce the key message that alcohol still continues to be the No. 1 drug of choice among the nation's youth and kills more teens than all other illicit drugs combined. |
