Freddie Mac Turns To Tobin Communications For Hispanic and Minority Outreach


In an effort to enable more African-Americans and Latinos to take the important steps toward homeownership, Freddie Mac and Chase Home Finance turned to Tobin Communications, Inc. when it launched in 2005 the awareness and outreach campaign, "Homeownership: Let the TRUTH Move You" or "¿Tu propia casa? ¡Atrévete!"

Radio interviews with Spanish and non-Spanish stations were scheduled in effort to tackle the following misconceptions:
  1. A potential homebuyer needs an almost perfect credit rating to qualify for a mortgage;
  2. A down payment of as much as 20 percent is required to buy a home;
  3. Lenders share personal financial information with each other and the government;
  4. People who do not have a checking or savings account cannot buy a home; and
  5. You must have had the same job for at least three years to qualify for a mortgage.
