National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys - COLLEGE STUDENTS STRUGGLE WITH FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
60-second script
Announcer: COLLEGE STUDENTS SAY "LIVE FOR THE MOMENT."
I'M MAURY TOBIN REPORTING FOR THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF RETAIL COLLECTION ATTORNEYS.
A NEW ONLINE POLL REVEALS THAT OVER A QUARTER OF COLLEGE STUDENTS THINK IT'S REASONABLE TO RUN UP A DEBT THAT MIGHT TAKE MONTHS OR YEARS TO PAY OFF.
ROBERT MARKOFF, PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF RETAIL COLLECTION ATTORNEYS EXPLAINS:
Robert Markoff: This poll shows that too many young people are living for the moment and aren't preparing for their financial future.
Having bad credit probably has more impact on your life than having a minor criminal record. It's vital for young people to think twice before abusing their credit cards. College students must understand that the debt they incur now will need to be repaid with interest.
In these difficult economic times, we want consumers to know that debt-collecting attorneys will work with them and treat them fairly.
