The Content Edge was launched in 2006 by Debra Zimmerman Murphey, a former print journalist. Our services include writing, editing, online communica- tions, marketing and public relations. Our goal is to combine cost-effective communications with one-of-a-kind content.

 

Straight to the top
Debra knows the high-stakes value of the bridge between the written word and stellar communications. She also understands the key components of publishing in the new millennium. Whether it is a Web site or a print or e-mail publication, Debra has mastered the written/editorial side. But she also understands the graphics/design end as well as how to manage and market a product, work with vendors and guide the printing/fulfillment processes.

The communications world
In the past few decades, three factors -- 24-hour news, custom publishing and the Internet -- have helped shape the communications landscape. Today, words, brands, images and messages that can cut through the clutter and make audiences sit up and take notice are the exception, not the rule.

Writing and journalistic-based storytelling, however, are key tools that can impact the bottomline, persuade decision-makers and spotlight people, companies, nonprofits and grassroots campaigns in unprecedented ways.

The approach
Today, the term "content" is constantly bandied about but most communicators don't understand how crucial good content is. We're talking about language and stories that are much more than a hodge-podge of jargon, disparate communication efforts and over-used corporate speak. Content -- when based on creative and credible storytelling -- can be a linchpin strategy that means the difference between success and failure and between creating a buzz or a bust.
